The people we meet in Cape Verde may have very little in material possessions, but they are rich in love, humility, gratitude, and faith. Every visit reminds us that true wealth is measured by the heart.
Every time we hand over the keys to a new home to someone who has survived on less than two dollars a day, and we replace leaking roofs with security, dirt floors with dignity, and hardship with hope, we witness something extraordinary.
A new house is never just a building.
It means clean running water.A safe place to sleep.A proper bathroom.A place where children can dream.A future filled with dignity instead of daily struggle.
And every family hears the same message:
"This gift comes from people who may never meet you, but who care deeply about you."
It comes from supporters like Janet in Ohio...Kimberly in Manchester, England...John in Worcester, Massachusetts......and every single person who has chosen to stand with us.
We are simply the connection between your compassion and their need.
Since returning from Cape Verde, I haven't been able to stop thinking about Ana receiving the keys to her new home. The tears, the smiles, the overwhelming gratitude... I still get goosebumps remembering that moment.
That moment belongs to all of you.
